Scott Sargent

As Evan promised, I am finally posting on the blog! Here is an update on what I have done so far:

I started here at the Cincinnati office about two months ago to help while Evan was back a school. From what I have heard, my first days in the office were very similar to his. I started by studying the Renegade manual and then I was quizzed by Jeff. At first, I was totally overwhelmed by all of the new roller coaster terminology and methodology that I encountered in the manual. I spent my first three or four days mostly just absorbing information.

By my second week, I was busy putting finishing touches on some of the Evel Knievel drawings in AutoCAD. It was mostly cosmetic work, but it helped me build a basic understanding of how to use AutoCAD, and more importantly, it introduced me to the kind of work that Great Coasters does (at least in the Cincinnati office).

This post is getting long, so I will continue my ramblings in the next post. I will say though, that in the last two months, I have learned more than I thought my mind could retain and that the longer I am here, the more I realize I have to learn about roller coasters and the design process.
I am loving every minute of it, and I will post again soon!
